Welcome from the Head
I would like to welcome you to the Foundation Bridge Academy, located in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent.
Although we have only been granted independent school status recently, the Academy has been providing alternative provision for 14-16 year-olds for a number of years, and has an enviable record of delivery and performance.
We have excellent quality facilities available for our learners to use, located as we are within Stoke on Trent College – it means that our learners gain real-life skills in genuine work environments and are able to go on to gain meaningful employment or further vocational study.

Transforming lives through learning by:
- Educating young people in life and work skills
- Delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment
Our vision for the Foundation Bridge Academy is to offer the finest alternative provision within Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, providing a broad range of qualifications in a supportive environment that will equip pupils with the vocational and personal skills needed to be ready for work, further study and society.
Our school ethos is to offer opportunities for young people to gain an education that will equip them with the necessary skills to lead positive, fulfilled lives.
The underlying philosophy is to enthuse and motivate all pupils to achieve their best.
Central to the School’s ethos is to improve learners’ self-awareness, confidence and self-esteem, enabling them to make a positive contribution to society. A comprehensive wrap-around support system will help pupils develop emotional resilience, allowing them to return to mainstream education where appropriate, or continue in alternative education to continue their skills development.
We are not affliliated to any specific religion. However, our aim is to provide all pupils with a broad and general understanding of different religions and cultures.
